Being active has always been a daily routine for me; beginning when I was a kid riding horses. Once I graduated college and commissioned into the Air Force, my active lifestyle shifted from hours spent at the barn to hours spent in the gym. In the summer of 2013 during Air Force training, I was introduced to CrossFit; however, I chose to train for and compete in my first Powerlifting meet. Shortly after that, I competed in my first partner CrossFit competition – and let’s just say the spark was ignited. From 2015-2016, I spent a year overseas at Thule Air Base in Greenland. With little to do there outside of work, I focused on my fitness. Along with a few others, I held weekly CrossFit/Strongman/Powerlifting classes to everyone on base. Being in such an isolated part of the world, it not only helped others to stay active, but also kept their spirits high as all of us were away from family and friends. Shortly after my return, I knew my passion for inspiring others through fitness had to continue, so I went on to obtain my CrossFit Level 1 in 2016 and USAW L-1 in 2017. I have also been a Physical Training Lead and Unit Fitness Program Manager for the Air Force over the past four years; ensuring health and fitness standards across the Air Force. CrossFit establishes camaraderie unlike any other sport I have participated in and I am so excited to be a part of the CFA/CFFC coaching staff!
